FAS mesti adakan semula AGM

Persatuan Bola Sepak Sarawak (FAS) mesti mengadakan semula Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan (AGM) bagi memastikan persatuan itu benar-besar sah dari segi peraturan perlembagaan Pertubuhan Sarawak (ROS).

Pada ketika ini, kepimpinan FAS tidak sah kerana AGM pada 21 Ogos 2010 lepas turit dihadiri Persatuan Bola Sepak Bahagian Kuching (PBBK).

Sepatutnya PBBK tidak dibenarkan menyertai AGM tersebut kerana persatuan itu belum sah pendaftarannya kepada ROS.

Mengikut perlembagaan pertubuhan, exco kepimpinan sesebuah persatuan atau pertubuhan itu dianggap TIDAK SAH apabila pemilihan tersebut turut melibatkan persatuan belum berdaftar.

Oleh itu, perlu bagi FAS mengadakan mesyuarat agung semula secara 'tergempar' bagi memastikan persatuan badan induk bola sepak Bumi Kenyalang itu dapat bergabung dengan Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia (FAM) secara sah.

Tindakan PBBK mengambil bahagian dalam AGM FAS baru-baru ini, adalah seperti mengundang 'malapetaka' kepada semua penyokong, penonton dan peminat bola sepak Negeri Sarawak.

Joseph Kallang on FAS’ radar

KUCHING: The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) is keen to lure midfielder Joseph Kallang back to the state from TTeam Terengganu.

An FAS source said it was likely Sarawak would attempt to sign the talented midfielder to strengthen the Crocs for the 2011 Mleague.

Kallang still has a one-year contract to run with T-Team.

“Should Terengganu FA agree to release him, we will definitely take him back,” the source said.

However, it added, TTeam were not likely to agree to a free transfer for Kallang and the contract between the two FAs on the player’s future movement had to be studied thoroughly.

Persatuan Bola Sepak Sarawak Haram???

KUCHING: Persatuan Bola Sepak Sarawak (FAS) adalah persatuan haram berdasarkan peraturan dan perlembagaan penubuhan persatuan.

FAS telah mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan (AGM) di Hotel Dormani Kuching pada 21 Ogos 2010 untuk pemilihan pucuk pimpinan (presiden) dan ahli-ahli majlis tertinggi persatuan itu.

Walaupun dilihat mesyuarat agung itu berjalan dengan lancar, tetapi ada kecacatannya kerana Persatuan Bolasepak Bahagian Kuching yang belum disahkan pendaftarannya menghadiri mesyuarat itu.

Pemilihan itu menyaksikan jawatan presiden dimenangi oleh Datu Sudarsono Osman yang menewaskan Naib Presiden FAS Dr. Paruwadi Haji Musa dengan kelebihan enam undi.

Datu Sudarsono merupakan Pengerusi Kumpulan Pengurusan Bola Sepak Sarawak (FMG) Sdn Bhd (sebuah syarikat berkaitan kerajaan – GLC) ditubuhkan di bawah Kementerian Pembangunan Sosial dan Urbanisasi (KPSU) Negeri Sarawak.

FAS to organise leagues through all affiliates

KUCHING: The Sarawak FA has taken the big step of “taking football to the masses” through the organising of well-run leagues throughout all the 11 divisions in well-co-ordinated efforts to unearth cream of players in one or two years’ time.

Presently, the leagues are on the planning stage as such important steps like negotiating with sponsors are going on.

Sarawak FA (FAS) president Datu Sudarsono Osman, when contacted, said they are looking into all the details of finalising on the leagues to ensure that it is capably taken care of by the affiliates while the standard of the leagues must be maintained.

Pusingan kedua Piala Perpaduan bermula hari ini

KUCHING: Sebanyak 32 pasukan sudah membuktikan kehebatan masing-masing apabila berjaya melepasi halangan pusingan pertama Kejohanan Bola Sepak Piala Perpaduan 2010 di Kampung Sambir, Asajaya semalam.

Kesemua pasukan terbabit bakal berentap dalam pusingan kedua bermula hari ini (Sabtu) bagi memburu tempat ke peringkat seterusnya.

Sebanyak 64 pasukan dari sekitar daerah Asajaya termasuk Bahagian Samarahan dan Kuching menyertai kejohanan bola sepak kalah mati itu.

FAS, Sarfa sedia bekerjasama demi martabatkan mutu pengadilan

KUCHING: Kira-kira 1,400 pengadil bola sepak Sarawak bakal mendapat manfaat daripada kerjasama yang cuba disemai di antara jawatankuasa pengadil Persatuan Bola Sepak Sarawak (FAS) dan Persatuan Pengadil Sarawak (Sarfa).

Pertemuan dua tokoh bola sepak tempatan baru-baru ini menjanjikan satu era baru buat para pengadil tempatan dalam meningkatkan mutu pengadilan mereka dalam sukan bola sepak.

Presiden jawatankuasa pengadil FAS, Haidel Heli berkata pertemuan beliau dengan Presiden Sarfa, Awang Mahyan Awang Mohamad tempoh hari telah membuahkan hasil apabila isu pengadil yang sekian lama menjadi persoalan akhirnya dapat diselesaikan.

KUCHING: Although he is no longer involved with football coaching, Awang Mahyan has not completely cut himself off from the sport which first helped make his name.

The coach who had opposing teams trembling when he prepared Sarawak’s ‘Ngap Sayot” sides in the early 80s, is now heavily involved with lawn bowls and cricket.

Awang is the president of both the state’s lawn bowls and cricket body. But football is still in his heart and Awang is helping out by taking care of the referees.

FA of Sarawak to adopt new structure

KUCHING: The upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) will see a new structure adopted by the association which is in line with the requirement of world football governing body FIFA.

This will augment professionalism in FAS and a beacon of hope for football in the state.

“The current structure is for all FAS affiliates to automatically become council members, whereas the new structure will see membership to the council by voting process.

Reinventing the Sarawak football team

KUCHING: The three Ps — profitability, profes-sionalism and passion — are key to uplift the standard of football in Sarawak.

Without these pillars, the game in the state will not improve much.

Ending another season on a low note, the Crocs have been getting a lot of flak for lacking dedication, team spirit and technical competence in their Premier League campaign.

But the finger should not be pointed solely at the team as the whole system is equally to blame, if not more.

Absence of the three Ps is at the heart of the problem. So not surprisingly, the consensus is that playing football has no future in the state — and the country, for that matter.

Can Kids Groomed As Future Footballers Get It Right?

Should there be a technical director appointed to effectively implement and oversee the State football development, not only to make sure the blueprint is carried out effectively, but to ensure that the players produced are true professionals who can adapt to the football systems?

Currently, the development, which has been carried out in a “liberalised” manner, under the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS), has no technical director but a “part-time technical director” and a technical director of the President’s Cup squad.

In the case of Sarawak, a technical director of coaching had been in the past been appointed by FAS like Tom Sermani in the late 1990s or Jalil Ramli who had handled the State team. 

A person like Sarawak professional coach, Mohd Zaki Sheikh Ahmad who is under the payroll of FAS and handles the State senior team should be the person. 

Just like England coach, Fabio Capello who handled the senior team where the coaches of the Under-23 or Under-19 England teams report to him.

Sarawak Shot Down By Army

KUCHING: Excuses are getting obsolete, echoed fans after the final whistle of a horrendous performance by the State team when they were thrashed 3-0 by ATM at the Sarawak Stadium, here, on Friday night.

Sounds of frustrations can be heard as spectators left the stadium, each vowing under their breathe not to return to watch the next match to avoid disappointment.

Recording their third loss after five matches, Sarawak now sit second bottom of the 13-team table with two points - a far cry from the maximum 15 points that the team can get.

It is high time for the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) to take a step back and avoid making “creative” excuses on the team’s dismal performance as the unavoidable bitter pill needs to be swallowed.

The meagre points through the goalless opening match against PDRM and the 1-1 draw against Selangor PKNS are nothing to shout about as the team only scored two goals and conceded nine. They lost 1-4 to KL Felda United and 1-2 to Harimau Muda.

Sarawak Football: Rome Not Built In A Day

KUCHING: The five-year football development plan which is being spearheaded by the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS), has the long term objective of producing top-notched local players to revive the glory days of Sarawak football.

The initiative is going to start full swing this year, up till 2015 where a meticulous development plan being drawn to cover the whole of Sarawak.

According to a spokesperson from MSNS, the development initiative is still in its infancy stage, where the proposal for the programme made on June 12, 2009 had just been given the green light from the State government.

The good news of the approval also came with a financial boost of RM1.5 million per year allocation by the State government to MSNS for executing the five-year programme, which will see the council will working very closely with the State Education Department.

“These schools are important assets to us. They are the ones supplying us the huge pool of players and coaches and we can also save money on the facilities as the schools can make use of their own football fields for training and competitions,” he said.

Commentary On The Sorry State Of Sarawak’s SUKMA Football

KUCHING: The recent announcement of the launching of the Football Development project after a year’s delay and thousands of ringgit in grant must be music to the ears of success-starved Sarawak football fans.

If the report by a local newspaper that former Sarawak legendary coach Alan Vest will be the director of coaching is correct, Sarawak football shall have a strong SUKMA squad this time. 

It may be able to enter at least the semifinals or capture the SUKMA trophy after the millions of ringgits spent.

But why Vest who is semi-retired and who has already stated that he will never hold a full-time job unless he is invited to do short courses or give a few day’s coaching clinics.

He might be a legend and well versed in development, but he will not be able to give his all. 

FAS, ISN Has To Work On Players’ Attributes Together

KUCHING: A bond has to be made between the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) and the National Sports Institute (ISN) to ensure that the young state players’ physical and mental attributes are at the top of their game.

Zaki Sheikh Ahmad after putting pen to paper as the head coach to the young team got a surprise when he found out that the association is not working hand in hand with ISN. 

He noted that several of the players are clueless when it comes to their diet before matches and during half time breaks.

“What I had seen is, these players are eating four to five bananas before matches, and they even drank the isotonic drinks like plain water. All these do more bad than good on their performance on the field,” said Zaki who had observed the players attitude in the past four matches. 

Being a former assistant coach to the national team, Zaki is left with no choice but to take the leash and educate several of the players on the proper food intake, nurturing them like a father to a child.

Big boost for state football devt - RM1.5 mln annually for five years programme

KUCHING: The Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) got a big shot in the arm on Thursday when its application for funds to run a five-year football development programme was given the nod by the State Cabinet.MSNS director Francis Nyurang Ding said with the funds, the Council could proceed with implementation immediately.

“I have just been notified by the state government today that the application we submitted last year has been approved, and we will be given RM1.5 million annually for five years to run the programme,” he disclosed on Thursday.

Francis said the groundwork was, in fact, laid last year when the Council organised a course in June for 33 coaches in Miri.

Former Sarawak coach Alan Vest conducted the course with the assistance of state football development coordinator Lucas Kalang.

According to Francis, the programme was on hold for a while as the council was awaiting the government’s approval for the application.

Five-Year Plan To Produce Calibre Players

KUCHING: The five-year football development plan run by the Sarawak State Sports Council is seen to be the “saviour” to get Sarawak football to produce top quality players in five years.

Right from the start of the project which is first mooted by an individual ( a former FAS official) the project had seen glitches and delays.

The Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) which is under the Ministry and tasked with implementing the project is the operating arm and the agency to implement the five-year development programme.

According to an observer of Sarawak football of several decades, the project has many loopholes and non-cost effective which will drain dry the annual RM 1.5 million allocation in a jiffy.

“It is a known fact that the Education Department have their own football programmes, which is based on formality rather than for development. 

FAS, FMG Receive Sponsorship From LEA Sports Centre.

KUCHING: The Sarawak Football Association (FAS) and Football Management Group (FMG) Sdn Bhd received their sponsorship from LEA Sports Centre yesterday for the upcoming 2010 season.

The sponsorship which came in the form of the team’s game, training and travelling attire has been the successful collaboration between LEA Sports Centre and Adidas.

The historical sponsorship which took place at the Sarawak stadium saw Lea Holding’s Managing Director, Raymond Sim, and Chairman of FAS FMG Sdn Bhd, Datu Sudarsono Othman, witnessed by the players and officials from both parties.

Lea Sports Centre who has been the team’s official sponsors since 1990 believes that their contribution will be able to reduce the financial burden of the state football club which augers well for the progress and development of football in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, the 2010 Premier League which kicks off this Monday, will see Sarawak’s first home match at the Sarawak stadium against Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) at 8.15pm.

RM3 MILLION FOR SARAWAK'S 5-YEAR FOOTBALL PLAN

KUCHING, May 19, 2009 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Social Development and Urbanization has estimated an expenditure of RM3 million or RM600,000 annually for the state's five-year football development plan, its minister Datuk William Mawan said today.

He said the development plan aimed to achieve the following targets -- Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2012 (quarter-finals), Sukma 2014 (final), President/Youth Cup 2012 (quarter-finals), President/Youth Cup 2013 (final) and a strong senior team for the Malaysia League in 2014.

"The success will depend largely on the availability of budget and sponsors and I, therefore, urge both the government and corporate sectors to contribute generously towards these programmes," he said in his winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly sitting here.

Mawan said the plan included setting up the Sarawak Football Development Steering Committee (SFDSC), putting the Sarawak Sports Council to be in charge of football development in the State, while the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) would now concentrate on the senior team and the Malaysia League.

He also said the youth team (currently playing in the President Cup under 20) would be placed directly under the Sarawak Sports Council which would groom them up to become the backbone players for the Senior Team.

SARAWAK ORDER PROBE ON MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF YOUTH PLAYER

KUCHING, Feb 16, 2009 (Bernama) - The state government has directed the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) to submit a full report on the death of Rojes Enoos, 18, who died under mysterious circumstances while representing the state in an Under-19 national youth tournament on July 5, last year.

Sarawak Social Development and Urbanisation Minister Datuk Seri William Mawan said the full report must include a post-mortem report conducted by a medical officer.

"I have not received a full report (on Rojes' death) or a post- mortem report yet. However, we will look into the matter seriously," he told reporters after presenting the Anugerah Tokoh Wanita 2008 award to Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) President, Datuk Ursula Thomas Dunpangol here today.

Though he did not indicate a definite time for the submission of the report, Mawan said the ministry would take the necessary action based on the report received from FAS, including the possibility of compensation to the family.

"This is an unprecedented incident. We must listen to both sides of the story. If there was any way we can show our compassion we will look into it," he said.
